Charities
Charitable giving is a cornerstone of MFC and was a part of the original formation. In 2012, MFC received its official IRS 501(c)(3) designation with a firm commitment to supporting grass-roots charitable causes. Each MFC Chapter is required to adopt, at a minimum, one charitable organization that supports either deployed service members, military veterans, first responders, or retired first responders. Many MFC Chapters support more than one charity with either fundraising activities or actual hands-on work in their communities.
Since our inception, we've held firm to our commitment to grass-roots giving to ensure that our efforts positively impact those truly in need. Often, the simplest acts of giving yield the greatest results; whether it's serving breakfast to a local veterans group, building a wheelchair ramp, or purchasing a service dog. The impacts of these small acts make a world of change for the individual truly in need. Of equal importance are the financial benefits supporting care packages for deployed service members, veteran education programs, and veteran transitional housing.
Our commitment to local giving certainly doesn't preclude our Members from a whole host of other charitable activities. Annually, you'll see us proudly supporting Wreaths Across America, Honor Flights, and any number of memorial events.
Since 2012, MFC has collectively raised in excess of $850,000.00 in charitable donations to qualified organizations. This amount is matched equally, with both time and event participation, by MFC's membership in support of charities with which we have no direct affiliation.
